The Classic Wine Tour is a fun, informative and social afternoon, fully hosted by one of our friendly and passionate wine guides. Their love of wine and for the region shines through on every tour and will leave you feeling nostalgic after a memorable afternoon in scenic wine country.
Whether you are a wine enthusiast, a wine novice or somewhere in between, our highly personalised, super-sociable Classic is a must-do Queenstown tour.
We visit three top wineries producing world-class wines in the Gibbston wine region including the famed Cave at Gibbston Valley Vineyard. Visit two further unique vineyards for tastings, these change daily so we can accept vineyard requests! Sample around 15-18 wine tastings in total with an array of cool-climate varietals including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, Rosé, Pinot Gris and the star performer – Pinot Noir.
Take a little more time at one of the vineyards to indulge in a cheeseboard whilst partaking in the tasting experience. Yum! This relaxed and social setting offers you the opportunity to seriously relax; chat with your fellow wine-tourers, compare the wines, compare the cheeses, ask the questions, and be sure to take photos.
As you make your way out of Queenstown, your guide will point out a vast array of scenic sights and local attractions including the Crowne Range, AJ Hackett Bungy bridge and a “Lord of the Rings” filming site. There will be some opportunity to stop and take photos throughout the afternoon. En-route your guide will entertain you with local stories, facts and various information on the early history of the area.

The wine tour starts at 1:25pm from the bus stop outside Cafe Marmolada, 43 Camp Street in central Queenstown. We also offer courtesy hotel transfers, so please let us know of your preferred collection point upon booking.

We can accept vineyard requests! If you wish to visit a specific vineyard in the Gibbston region, let us know, we have relationships with all cellar doors and can adapt our daily tour itineraries to suit your requirements.
For you beer lovers, no, it doesn’t have to be all about wine, we’re happy to substitute some of the wine tastings for craft beer tasting when notified in advance – though beware, if our guides have anything to do with it, you could find yourself an avid wine buff by the end of the day!
Spend a morning among the trees and an afternoon among the vines with our fun Zip & Sip Tour combo! Choose from three Ziptrek Ecotour options and participate in this morning activity. The Ziptrek Eco tour finishes at the bottom of the Gondola 6 line Kea Tour, followed by an afternoon among the vines!
Queenstown Skyline Gondola Pass (anytime on your chosen date) and Classic Wine Tour running 1pm – 5pm. The Skyline Gondola is a Queenstown icon. It’s the steepest cable car lift in the whole of the Southern Hemisphere and together with the Classic Wine Tour, a definite Must Do!
Choose Millbrook or Arrowtown Golf Course and join the Classic Wine Tour. Tour runs 10.30am to 5pm. Golfing on beautiful grounds in the morning and indulging in wine and cheeses in the afternoon; for many, there couldn’t be a better day out.
This combo includes 9 holes of golf at either the renowned Millbrook or Arrowtown Golf Course and allows time afterward for lunch (at own expense). We will collect you from your accommodation at 10.30am and drop you off at Millbrook golf course where your clubs, ball and cart will be waiting for you.
One of Queenstown’s most iconic experiences across Lake Wakatipu showcases some of the region’s spectacular alpine scenery while offering plenty of time to explore a piece of living history. Today, the TSS Earnslaw is believed to be the oldest working coal-fired passenger steamship in the southern hemisphere. Guests can explore the decks from the engine room viewing platform to the Skipper’s wheelhouse. They can feel the heat of the giant steam engines at work and watch the stokers shovel coal into the glowing fireboxes.
